Sunset Beach, NC

I expected great finds today after yesterday's storm, but there were few. A gentleman pointed out that the wind was blowing out to sea, which was true. Thus few critters appeared on the beach.

Yet, despite few marine finds, I met some very pleasant people and enjoyed their company.

Striped Sea Star, a real gymnast
Astropecten articulatus, beaded, royal or marginated sea star
Giant Atlantic Cockle shell
Knobbed Whelk, live and extended out of shell
Atlantic Moon Snail with hole drilled by the animal that ate him
